Long time no Blog...

Since our last episode we have experienced what I can only call a "prayer storm". Ivan was heading for BIM, then verred south and smacked Grenada. Then it set Jamaica in its sights, got within 70 miles and hung a dead left and went around. If this isnt an example of the power of prayer I dont know what is.

Not much going on personally. Started a new R/C car championship last night. Got two 2nd places and a 3rd place. Put down that fastest lap but just had mad problems with consistancy. Twas fun though.

School started back in BIM full force today and as a result I was 1hr late for work. Just more support for my theory that there should be 4 BIG schools strategicly located in BIM with shuttles running to them from drop off points. :)

Let me take this opportunity to official state how great God is.

Scenario :-

Harddrive in critical application server goes bum. Wont boot, cant see files when you put it in another machine. Last valid backup Jan 2004. I gave up. Then I gave up the problem to God in prayer. Well thru God's guidance and mercy , the data was salvavged from the broken harddrive, restored to another machine, and the software techs for the application were able to recessitate it.

Moral of the story.... when all seems lost... go to God!

Server in the Automotive Art Trinidad franchise went down, so I had to fly down the spare parts server to swap out parts till we got it back up. Here are a couple of scenarios which make travl to Trinidad very unpleasent.

Scenario #1
reach T&T with spare parts server... customs man ask me what it is .. I tell him.. man want tuh know how much I feel it worth.. I say $300 - $400 US maybe cuz its boout 3 years old and is being used for spare parts...de man value it at 2000 TT (6TT to 1 US) and charge duty and vat pun it

de tings is...there aint no duty and vat pun computers or computer parts in Trinidad

Scenario #2

Leffin T&T ... get to checkin.. realize dat dem got a sign pun de wall stating that lugguge weight limit for flights within the caribbean is only 20 KG (44 pounds) per bagage... fine... put server up on scale.. scale read 31.4 KG.. man reason turn box pun side.. so I turn box.. scale read 31.4 KG... man rest he hand pun de box till it read 34.1 then reson he gun put it at 35 kg.

then he proceed to charge me 15KG in over weight as opposed to 11kg.

Ahhh... seems like i'm down to one blog a month. Will try to do more but hey, my life is pretty boring.

The two weeks vacation in Florida was good. Went up to Orlando for a few days to ride the Flowrider. Stayed right next door to the waterpark and got free admission (which was cool cuz the admission was like $25 US a day). Rode the Flow the ENTIRE first day (10 - 5) and fully tweaked my ankle (could barely walk), but yet still went back for an hour the second day. Rest of vacation was spent chillin, watching TV, catching the bus to the mall and the movies, eating an insane amount of strawberries and cherries, consuming my bodyweigth in Pepsi, and gaining the oligatory 5 lbs a week. On other fronts, my sister is due at the end of June. Its another girl and her name will be Brooke Alexandra. So my total will now be 2 nieces and a godson.... better start saving for Christmas now :)

Well i'm off to Florida for 2 weeks vacation on Saturday. Oh boy...2 weeks of doin nuttin.. just what I need right now. Unfortunately I will be missing Rally Barbados. :( Its the first time that I will be missing this event is as long as I can remember. But if I dont take vacation now, I probably wont be able to get it until August or September, and that just wont do.

Came across a link while browsing Slashdot.org about how to setup a moblog (which is basically blogging with pictures from mobile devices). You setup an account at textamerica.com and then you basically just email the pics to an email address and the site automatically puts em up on your indiviual page. Well.... A new month is upon us. Where is the time going?????

Had a day of good surf March 27th. THe morning was spent surfing Tropicana and the evening I got my tail handed to me by some vicious Soup Bowl. Check the Surf Report (in the frame to the left on www.spidude.com) for deatils.

Then March 28th I hooked up with the Zhaust.com crew at the Dexterity. PB did the dawg in the Scooby as usual....full power drifts around the loose oval track :)

Me and a couple buddies have formed a Gunbound guild called Bashment. Gunbound is an online turn based game where you use different vechiles with different abilities to blow up the other players. Check out www.gunbound.net for more.

Hmmm... long time no blog. Maybe its because I been busy..... who am I trying to fool...its becasue I have no life to blog about.

Okey brief recap of March so far .....

> Waves.... fairly so-so winter with a couple swells on both west and south. Had a few nice sessions. Check out the Surf Reports for details.

> Cell Wars .... hmm my cell is company provided and paid for so it didnt really matter to me. I have both a Digicel (Sony Ericsson Z600) and C&W (Nokia 6200) cell phone, with both have the same last 4 digits in the number. So the C&W peeps can reach me and so can the Digi peeps.

> Cricket ....... West Indies doin crap as usual...nuff said.

> Movies ... slow month for movies.... The Passion Of Christ and You Got Served being the highlights.

> Work .. oh boy.. Way too many projects in the works at one time..... not very condusive to effecient work, but hey... TECHIES RUNS TINGS!

Arrrrggghhh .. Digicel launched today. Good pricing but evertything was crazy.

My ADSL still aint wukkin properly. And for a company that supposedly prizes itself on customer service , I dont feel very served at all. I mean I realize that there is a problem but I am not a mushroom, so dont keep me in the dark. I would like to know that they havent forgotten me.

I'm broke again, and its partially my fault. Need to stop going to the Olympus & Mocha FRappe's. Also need to cut out other luxuries (like ADSL if they dont get it fixed cuz I cud be paying for dialup and getting the same performace).

Hmmm... where to start.

My ADSL is down to dialup speeds...I aint pleased bout that at all. And C&W aint being too helpful in resolving the problem.

My mobo and vidcard went. Power problems maybe. Anywhoo got a deal from the guys at D.E.Computers Warrens. They hooked me up good.

Sweet session at Tropicana this morning/afternoon. Got some nice barels. Info HERE. When I was leaving I saw Ana walking home and pretended to attempt to run her over...but she realized it was me and didnt flinch....bah!

Now gotta goto to work and do the dayend and monthenmed procedures and reports in the accounting package. Hey shouldnt the Accounts Dept be doing this?? :(

Been in Digicel training for the last 2 weeks. Exciting packages and sweet phones coming our way so be on the lookout.

Also took a trip down to Automotive Art's franchisee in St.Kitts this week. Was a semi-successful trip, but didnt complete my full mission so I was bummed.

Started reading a book called "Men Are Clams... WOmen Are Crowbars" this week. It pretty much deals with the communication differences between men and women and how to try to resolve em. Its pretty good so far. Will post more when finished.

GT4 is officialy delayed till Summer :( :< BAH!

Well the site that hosted my comments went belly up so I had to switch to a new commenting site. Hence all of my previous comments are gone :(.

Had some waves on the West Coast for the past few days. Got in a session at Tropicana on Sunday evening and Monday morning. Not epic stuff but still fun. Check the Surf Report for details.

My new Yokohama Advan tyres for my RC car are WUKKIN! Won one of the 4 races on Sunday night and was right up with the lead guys for 2 of the other 3 (this in an underpowered, undergeared car). The car now turns on a dime. Time for a new engine. :)

Finished the Joshua Harris book, and ordered two more copies of each for distribution (i.e. lending) to anyone that wants to read um.

My package from Miami containing my Reloaded and X2 DVD's finally arrived (thought it had been lost :( ). So tonight I get little sleep. :)

Called in to Mix today to request Britney SPears' "I'm not a Girl" for Ana for here birthday. Thought she would be peeved but she took it in stride... HAPPY BIRTHDAY MISSY!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Also included in the package was a cool shirt my buddy is Miami sent me. Only gamers will get it. :)



Other than that there is nothing else to say..... what an exciting life I lead :)

Missed the Zanz lime on Saturday....for some reason I didnt feel like being sociable.

Instead continued reading one of the books I bought on Saturday. Its called Boy Meets Girl by Joshua Harris. I highly recommend anyone who is not married yet to read both this and his first book I Kissed Dating Goodbye. They are both available at the local bookstore as well as online at Amazon.com. Went to ATC's Jubilee 2004 featuring Fred Hammond on Sunday. It was jammin. Powerful praise and worship. Altar call was cramped.

Went to church last night from 10 - 2. Good service with good message. zthen came home and went to sleep.

Woke up this morning expecting waves, but received none :(.

Lazed around for a bit. Played some Need For Speed UNderground and watched Runaway Jury (good flick I suggest a watch).

Then seeing that I had to drive up to work to change the backup tape, I decided to goto watch Paycheck. Roll in the parking lot and but up on Raiser (what a coinkidink). Then when I get upstairs who do I see but MissAna. After guilt tripper her a bit for not txting me that she was going, I settle in to watch what turned out to be a pretty interesting flick.
